Sioux Chief Supports Local Organizations for the Holidays
The holiday season is a special time for Sioux Chief and our employees. Every year we participate in local philanthropic efforts.
This year, individual departments at Sioux Chief will “adopt” a family and provide presents and money for groceries through The Cass County Toy Shop. Sioux Chief and our employees adopt between 10-15 families per year.
Sioux Chief also participated in the Toy Shop’s “gift tree” program. The gift tree is a Christmas tree laden with paper ornaments; each one of them has a wish list that donors select to purchase the items, and leave them unwrapped under the tree.
We also collect nonperishable items for two food pantries in Cass County. For every canned good item brought in by an employee, Sioux Chief will donate $1 to the same food pantry to buy perishable items from Harvesters.
Sioux Chief donates approximately $20,000 to various organizations throughout the greater Kansas City area that help with emergency assistance for families during the holidays.
Our thanks go to the volunteers at the Cass County Toy Shop and all other organizations for devoting themselves to their local neighbors in need!
